About
Ariana Gossard is a mother of four from NJ and the parent of a nonspeaking autistic AAC user. She spent years advocating for proper communication supports for her son and access to an AAC device. After transitioning to a specialized placement for school, his need for AAC was recognized and he was provided with a communication device through AbleNet. Over the past year, Ariana has navigated the success, challenges and learning experiences that come with supporting an AAC user at home, in school and in the community. She is passionate about sharing the parent perspective and helping professionals better understand the realities families face outside of the therapy room.
