Starting the AAC Conversation with Caregivers
This session equips SLPs with strategies to initiate AAC discussions with caregivers. Learn how to identify readiness levels, use collaborative language and apply simple coaching models to build trust, reduce resistance and support early buy-in for successful AAC generalization across settings.

Daj Mitchell graduated from Governors State University with her Bachelors in Speech-Language Pathology and a minor in Psychology. She received her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology from Illinois State University and holds a variety of certifications and awards including but not limited to, certification as a Lingraphica Technology Specialist, Level I and Level II Sensory Certification and two successive ASHA ACE awards. Daj is a school-based speech-language pathologist and private practice owner known for her passion for supporting caregivers and professionals.
