Choosing the right AAC app is one of the most important decisions an SLP can make. This course walks clinicians through the key factors to consider during app selection, including language, access, and customization needs, and introduces quickMATCH, a free tool developed by SLPs at AbleNet to help narrow down the best fit for each client. Christina Vallone, M.S. CCC-SLP, is a Speech-Language Pathologist, Clinical Manager, and AAC Facilitator/Evaluator at an early intervention practice in Tallahassee FL, where she specializes in helping young children with complex communication needs find their voice through AAC, providing family-centered care, and supporting functional communication development. She conducts comprehensive AAC evaluations, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to identify the best communication and access solutions, and trains caregivers, educators, and clinicians to confidently support AAC users across environments. She is passionate about making communication accessible for every child and has loved partnering with AbleNet on device trials, funding, and clinician education, including presenting to graduate clinicians at Florida State University on AAC evaluation, implementation, and funding.
